Sferra Bros. was founded in 1891 by Gennaro Sferra, who started his company by touring exclusive American resorts from Maine to Palm Beach and selling Venetian lace collars and cuffs to the wealthy patrons he found there.  After noting the high demand for hand embroidered linens among these leading families, he opened a factory in Venice, Italy in 1905 providing top quality linens, hand made lace and exquisite embroidery to fine linen devotees of the day.  His legacy has been handed on to his sons, Enrico and Albert.  Since the 1940’s, they have continued and expanded the family tradition of providing the most luxurious linens available in Europe, such as double damask linen from Ireland, Swiss embroidery from Madeira and Alencon lace from France.  Today, the Sferra Brothers luxury linen collection is known worldwide for superior quality and unique design.
